Senior Full Stack Engineer (React, Python - Romania))

Senior Full-Stack Developer | 5+ years | Romania | Trade Finance & Commodity Trading | React & Python; own the end-to-end delivery of a modern loan-management and financing platform supporting treasury and trade-finance teams, from high-performance React interfaces to reliable Python APIs, PostgreSQL data services, and S3-backed workflows. Overview: We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer with strong React and Python expertise to support a key digital project for one of our clients in the financial and commodity trading domain. This position is ideal for someone with a senior mindset who can take ownership of the full application stack and help accelerate delivery of a loan management and financing platform used by treasury and trade finance teams. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain a modern React single-page application backed by a Python application layer (API/services). - Implement backend services that interact with S3 for snapshot and reference data, and PostgreSQL for transactional and operational data, ensuring data integrity and performance. - Translate complex financial and trade finance workflows (invoice-to-loan lifecycle, exposure tracking, cost-of-financing, bank selection) into robust, testable application logic. - Take ownership of end-to-end delivery across frontend, backend, and data storage, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code. - Collaborate closely with solution architects, data engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and iterate quickly on UX and functionality. - Help improve delivery speed and development efficiency through automation, CI/CD, and engineering best practices. - Bring a senior mindset and technical leadership, supporting and guiding other developers in the team. - Identify and implement best practices for application architecture, frontend performance, and backend reliability, including monitoring, logging, and error handling. - Contribute to the integration of API-based data flows with upstream and downstream systems, ensuring clean contracts and robust validation rules. - Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions, advocating for clean design and long-term maintainability. Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years working across both frontend and backend. - Strong expertise with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript for building single-page applications. - Solid experience with Python for building APIs, services, or application logic (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask or similar). - Experience in trade finance, treasury, commodity trading, or broader financial services domains. - Good understanding of relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and migrations. - Experience working with object storage such as S3 (or equivalent) for snapshot, archival, or analytical data. - Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrating with external systems. - Familiarity with cloud-native or containerized architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and observability (logging, metrics, traces) is a strong advantage. - Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. - Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset, with the ability to drive delivery and support team efficiency. - Experience mentoring developers or acting with a tech lead mindset, including code reviews and technical guidance. Nice to have: - Experience with complex data-heavy UIs (tables, dashboards, filters) and performance optimization in React. - Experience working in distributed or international teams and communicating with business stakeholders. - Experience improving development processes and delivery performance (e.g., testing strategies, DevOps practices, automation).Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools or AI-powered features in applications.
