Network Engineer

Network Engineer (Connectivity Solutions) - 12 Months+ Contract - Malaysia - Remote

RED has a new contract opportunity for a Network Engineer (Connectivity Solutions) to join one of our key partners for a global connectivity and network operations programme.

The initial contract will be for 12 months with scope for further extensions based on project requirements.

This contract is to start ASAP and will be remote.

Specific skills/experience required:

• 5+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Operations, or Connectivity-focused roles.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting SD-WAN environments, ideally VMware Velocloud.
• Solid experience with enterprise LAN, WAN, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN and NAC technologies.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting large-scale global network environments across offices, retail stores, warehouses and remote users.
• Experience supporting ISP circuits, remote access services and hybrid connectivity environments.
• Strong incident management experience, including L2/L3 troubleshooting, major incidents (P1), RCA documentation and vendor escalation.
• Experience with network monitoring and observability tools, including SNMP, APIs and log-based monitoring.
• Knowledge of network security best practices, configuration hardening, patch management and firmware lifecycle management.
• Experience with Zscaler technologies (ZIA, ZPA and/or ZCC) and Zero Trust access models would be highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with network administration platforms such as DHCP, Radius, Wi-Fi controllers, network portals and SD-WAN orchestrators.
• Experience working in global, follow-the-sun or 24/7 operational support environments.
• Exposure to network automation, templates, standardisation and operational efficiency initiatives is desirable.
• Experience working directly with ISPs, carriers and third-party technology vendors.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, VMware SD-WAN (Velocloud) or Zscaler certifications are highly desirable.
• Able to join within a short notice period.
