SAP Merchandise Planning & Assortment Planning Consultant Location: Remote / EuropeStart: ASAP / Short noticeInitial Engagement: 5-10 days for pre-salesPotential Follow-on: Implementation projectWorkload: Flexible during pre-salesLanguages: Fluent English & SpanishContract: Freelance Role Overview We are looking for a highly experienced SAP Merchandise Planning & Assortment Planning Consultant to support a retail transformation opportunity, initially focusing on a pre-sales / solution design phase with the potential to continue into the subsequent implementation. The ideal consultant will have strong hands-on experience implementing SAP Merchandise Planning and Assortment Planning solutions within retail and/or fashion environments, with the ability to engage directly with senior business stakeholders and translate business requirements into effective SAP planning solutions. The initial requirement is expected to be approximately 5-10 consulting days for the pre-sales phase. Subject to the outcome, there is potential for further involvement throughout the implementation. Key Responsibilities Lead business workshops to gather and validate retail planning requirements. Support pre-sales activities, solution design and customer discussions. Design and implement SAP Merchandise Planning and Assortment Planning solutions. Define end-to-end retail planning processes covering: Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) Open-to-Buy (OTB) Assortment Planning Category Planning Range Planning Forecasting and Replenishment integration Provide SAP retail planning expertise, best practices and recommendations. Conduct fit-gap analysis and support solution design decisions. Configure and optimise SAP planning applications. Support planning model design, data migration and reporting requirements. Collaborate with Merchandising, Buying, Planning, Supply Chain and Finance teams. Support testing, UAT, cutover, hypercare and post-go-live activities where required. Provide clear documentation and communicate solutions effectively to both business and technical stakeholders. Requirements 8+ years of SAP Retail experience. Minimum 3 successful implementations involving: SAP Merchandise Planning SAP Assortment Planning Strong experience within Retail and/or Fashion environments. Deep understanding of: Merchandise Financial Planning Open-to-Buy (OTB) Assortment & Category Management Seasonal Planning Budget Planning Demand Forecasting Experience working within global or multi-country retail environments. Strong understanding of retail planning processes and their integration with wider SAP solutions. Proven ability to work directly with senior business stakeholders. Strong workshop facilitation and requirements-gathering skills. Comfortable working independently in a freelance consulting capacity. Preferred Skills SAP CAR SAP S/4HANA Retail SAP BW/4HANA SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Retail master data and product hierarchies Merchandise categories and store clustering Integration with Purchasing, Inventory Management and Supply Chain solutions Experience with international retail rollout programmes Required Profile Senior-level freelance SAP consultant. Fluent English and Spanish. Available at short notice. Able to work remotely, with occasional travel if required. Excellent communication, workshop facilitation and documentation skills.
